# Realm for Microsoft Teams privacy

> What data the Realm app for Microsoft Teams uses, and why

The Realm app for Microsoft Teams sends your Realm notifications to a chat in Teams. This page describes the data the app uses. The [Application Privacy Policy](https://www.withrealm.com/application-privacy-policy) of Realm Technologies Oy covers all processing in Realm, including this app.

## Data the app uses

| Data | Why |
| - | - |
| Your Microsoft tenant ID and Microsoft user ID | To link your Teams chat to your Realm account |
| Your Teams user ID and the reference to your chat with the Realm app | To send notifications to that chat |
| The content of your notifications, such as RFP and tender titles, question text, comment excerpts and links to Realm | To show you what needs your attention |
| Your notification settings in Realm | To send only what you chose, and to stop when you disconnect |

When you connect, Realm asks Microsoft to confirm which Microsoft account you use. Realm may also read your organization's Teams app list once, to open the right copy of the Realm app. Realm does not read your Teams messages, files or meetings through this app.

## Who processes the data

* **Realm** processes the notification content on behalf of your organization, under your organization's agreement with Realm. Realm processes your account data as described in the Application Privacy Policy.
* **Microsoft** delivers the notifications through the Bot Framework and stores them in Teams, under your organization's agreement with Microsoft.

## Your choices

* Choose which notifications reach Teams under **Preferences** > **Notifications** in Realm.
* Click **Disconnect** there to stop Teams notifications. Realm then forgets the Microsoft account you connected with.
* Remove the Realm app in Teams at any time.
