How Realm connects to applications
Realm uses native connectors to ingest and index data from your connected tools. These connectors perform two primary functions:- Content indexing: Realm extracts relevant content such as documents, tickets, conversations, and CRM records so they can be searched and used by AI agents.
- Permission mirroring: Realm mirrors the access permissions from each source system. Users can only see information they already have access to in the original application.
Connector updates
Realm continuously syncs with connected systems to keep the knowledge base up to date. Changes in source applications are captured through incremental indexing and API updates.Other ways to add knowledge
In addition to native connectors, knowledge can be added to Realm in several other ways:- Uploading files and documents: Upload files directly in Chat or to the Knowledge Base. Files can be shared with the entire organization or kept private to you.
- Completed RFPs: When you complete a project in the RFP feature, the questions and answers are automatically added to the Knowledge Base.
- Websites: Admins can connect public websites, such as customer-facing help centers, to be crawled and indexed.
- API: For sources that do not have a native connector, administrators can use the Realm Push API to add knowledge to Realm. This allows you to programmatically push content from any custom source.
- Tools and MCP (Model Context Protocol): Realm can be connected to any application that offers an MCP server, providing an open standard for securely connecting to external data sources and tools.
