What is Embedded Chat?

Embedded Chat brings Chat to the pages where you work. Realm knows which page you are on and what is visible, can move around the page with you, and can make changes that you approve first. Embedded Chat is currently available on:

• Questionnaire pages: work on answers, assignments, and reviews
• The document editor: draft and refine documents

On other pages, use regular Chat.

Realm sees what you see

A banner above the message box shows what Realm currently sees: the questionnaire and its active section, the rows in view with any applied filters, the open document and version, and the people working on the current section. This means you can point at your work instead of describing it. “Why is this answer marked low quality?” or “Summarize what changed in this section” work without any setup.

Realm can work the page with you

Beyond answering, Realm can drive the page: take you to another page, switch the active section, apply row filters, and highlight the item it is talking about. These page actions run as you watch and never change your data.

You stay in control

Bigger changes — filling rows in batch, adding or deleting comments, and changing a row’s attachments — first show an approval card listing the exact rows, people, and values involved. Nothing in those changes is written until you approve. Once you do, the change lands live on the page, and everyone viewing the same questionnaire sees it without reloading. Quick, reversible edits — assigning responders or reviewers, setting review status, and editing answers — apply immediately as you watch, and every answer edit is saved as a version you can restore. In the document editor, edits arrive as suggested edits that you accept or decline inline, so you review before anything sticks.

What you can do on each page

On a questionnaire

Realm sees the open table, its sections, the rows in view, and who is working on them. It can:

• Explain an answer or a requirement
• Assign responders and reviewers, and set review status
• Edit answers, with each edit saved as a version you can restore
• Fill or regenerate chosen rows or a whole section in one batch, with an optional shared instruction
• Apply filters and take you to the right section
• Review answers and suggest improvements

Batch fills, comments, and attachment changes go through approval cards before anything changes; assignments, review status changes, and answer edits apply immediately, with every answer edit saved as a restorable version. For grid navigation, review flows, and exporting, see Completing an RFP.

In the document editor

Realm knows which document and version you have open, follows the part of the document you are viewing, and sees the source RFP for a response document. It can:

• Draft or edit the document with suggested edits you accept or decline
• Leave review comments anchored to the text
• Answer questions about the document
• Look things up in your knowledge base

Each document keeps its conversations together, so returning to a document resumes where you left off. The document sidebar keeps its Sources, Comments, and Versions tabs next to the panel. For outlining, drafting, and exporting documents, see Document RFP responses.
