Connect Microsoft Teams to Realm to make channel messages, replies, and shared files searchable. Navigate to Settings > Data sources and click Connect Teams on Teams, or click Reconnect if already connected. Turn Sync chats on to include chats, or turn it off to sync only channel messages.

Connecting Teams

Click Connect Teams on the Teams data source page. You’ll be redirected to Microsoft’s OAuth consent screen. Review the permissions and click Accept. The person connecting should be a Microsoft 365 admin. Once authorized, you’ll be redirected back to Realm to select which teams and channels to sync. Use the Sync chats toggle to control whether Realm syncs Teams chats in addition to channels.

Selecting Teams

After connecting, choose which teams and channels to sync. You can add or remove teams at any time from the data source page.

Permissions

Realm enforces Teams’ native permission model. Users can only see messages from teams and channels they have access to in Teams. You can override this by switching to “Everyone in this organization” on the data source settings page, which makes all synced Teams data visible to all Realm users.

Sync chats

You can enable syncing of chat messages in addition to channel messages by turning on Sync chats on the data source page. Turn it off to sync only channel messages.
