Chat agent

The Chat agent setting, under Defaults, controls which assistant opens by default for users who have not chosen their own default assistant. Users can override this in Settings > Preferences. If they select their own default assistant, their personal setting takes priority over the organization default. The organization default applies until someone switches assistant in a chat. Realm remembers that choice against their account, so new chats reopen on it after a reload and on their other devices. A personal default set in Settings > Preferences still wins over it. If a user cannot access the assistant this setting names, Realm opens the first assistant that is available to them instead.

Document template

The Document template setting, under Defaults, sets the default look of documents. Every document that has no layout of its own uses this template’s Word layout in the editor’s Preview tab and in Word, PDF, and Google Docs exports. This includes documents that already exist, wherever they were created. Choose any of your organization’s templates, or None for no default. The default is a starting point, not a rule: in the Preview tab or the Export dialog, anyone who can edit a document can choose another layout for it, or Standard Realm style to export it with Realm’s own formatting. The default does not change what Realm writes when it generates a document. Only a template made from a Word document carries a layout. If the selected template has none, or is deleted or is no longer a template, previews and exports use Realm’s default styling until you select a new default.
